This webpage is intended to provide a quick summary of the viability of handheld lidar and photogrammetry devices for the field of landscape, interior, and public space design.

The application that is being used is Polycam, there is a free version but I am using the pro version for exporting.

TEST SCENE: CU DENVER CAMPUS DESIGN TESTS

I will be using the Tivoli Courtyard and an on campus backyard from the old neighborhood.

NOTES:

Thus far I have found the design viability for a photogrammetry based design flow to be completely possible. With the added benefit of having your size and scale baked into the scene thanks to the original scans being a true to world scale.

Using Procreate or another UV painting tool, you can easily draw designs over existing landscape. And then bring those textures into Unreal for asset placement and modeling.

As stated all designs would be in real scale showing it's completely possible to quickly capture a space with photogrammetry and then edit that space in real time. Allowing yard design and Urban space design to be completed quicker with far more creative bounds compared to traditional drafting software.
